Grave and memorial care, county by county

Cleaning, headstone restoration, lettering, kerbing, chippings and flower placement — from people who work in your cemetery. Many will send you photographs after the work is done, which matters most if you can’t be there.

What you might be looking for

How it works

Three steps, and we’re only the first one

1

Find providers in your county

Search by county and by what you need. Every listing shows the counties that business actually covers.

2

Contact them directly

Ring, email or message them yourself. We don’t take bookings and we don’t sit in the middle.

3

Agree the work and the price

Get it in writing. If you’re abroad, agree that you’ll receive photographs when it’s finished.

Grave and memorial care around Ireland

Details below are taken from each business’s own website or listing. We have not independently verified them — please confirm what’s included and agree a price directly with the business.

Families abroad

Arranging care when you can’t visit

Most people who go looking for this are not in the country. They’re in London, Boston, Sydney or Perth. They haven’t been home in a few years, they know the grave needs attention, and they’ve no idea who to ask — or how to be sure the work was actually done.

What makes it difficult

You don’t know who to ask. The neighbours who’d have pointed you to someone have moved or passed on.

Ringing Ireland is awkward from another time zone, and often expensive.

And you can’t check the work was done. You’re asked to arrange payment with someone you’ve never met, in a country you’re not in.

What to look for

Photographs after the work. Several providers here send before-and-after pictures. Use the filter to show only those.

Email or WhatsApp, not just a phone number. So you can arrange it at a reasonable hour where you are.

A named cemetery and a written price. Agree what’s included before any money changes hands, and don’t pay a full year up front to someone you’ve only just found.

Annual care plans

What an annual grave care plan actually covers

An annual plan usually means two to four visits a year: cleaning the stone, cutting back growth, tidying the plot, topping up chippings, and placing flowers if you’ve asked for it.

What it usually doesn’t cover: headstone restoration, re-lettering, kerbing repair, or replacing chippings entirely. Those are separate jobs at separate prices.

What it costs in Ireland. Published plans run from about €100 to €450 a year. Around €240–€300 is common for a plan of several visits. Packages that include floral visits run €300–€450, and premium monument-care packages go higher again.

Before you pay for a year

  • How many visits, and at what times of year?
  • What exactly does each visit include?
  • Do I get photographs after every visit?
  • What happens if a visit is missed?
  • Can I pay in instalments rather than the full year up front?
Not sure who to ask?

Tell us what you need

Leave your county and what you’re looking for, and we’ll pass it to providers who cover that area. They contact you — not the other way round. There’s no fee.

Why families use GraveKeep

What this site is, plainly

We ring before we vouch

We’re working through every listing by phone. Once we’ve spoken to a business, its listing shows the date we did. Until then it says the details aren’t confirmed yet — we won’t pretend otherwise.

Nothing is hidden

We say what we’ve checked and what we haven’t. Anything a business told us about itself is marked “Says:” rather than repeated as fact.

We’re not in the middle

You contact the business directly and agree the price with them. We take no booking, no deposit and no commission.

For businesses

Do you look after graves and memorials in Ireland?

GraveKeep.ie lists grave and memorial care providers county by county, so families — including the many who live abroad — can find someone who works in their cemetery.

A basic listing is free and it stays free. Your name, the counties you cover, the services you offer and your phone number. No card, nothing that starts automatically later.

We’ll ring you to check the details are right, ask which cemeteries you cover, and ask whether you’d send photographs to a family living overseas. That’s the whole process. If it’s not for you, ring or email and we’ll take it down the same day.

What we check, and what we don’t

Listings here are compiled from each business’s own website or public listing. We are working through them by phone — asking which counties and cemeteries they cover, and whether they’ll send photographs to a family living abroad. Where a listing shows a date, that’s the day we spoke to them. Where it says the details aren’t confirmed yet, we haven’t reached them.

We have not inspected anyone’s work. We have not checked insurance, qualifications or tax status. We are not recommending anyone. Anything marked “Says:” is the business’s own claim, repeated as they gave it to us.

Satisfy yourself before agreeing any work. Get the price in writing. And don’t pay for a full year in advance to someone you’ve only just found.
